Some of you may be aware of the groundbreaking APC40 that Akai launched way back in May 2009. This little fella is essentially a scaled won version that gives you all of the essentials in one neat
The APC20 was built by Akai in conjuction with Ableton themselves so you can be totally confirdent that it will give you seamless control over the software. It gives you visual feedback from the multi-coloured clip buttons so you can see the status of clips in your set, it offers bi-directional control between the hardware and software, it's built like a tank but won't take up too much space in your bag. Whether you're using Ableton Live for, be it DJing, live performance or studio based composition, the APC20 is necessity for anyone who doesn't need the additional pots and crossfader supplied on its' bigger brother. Of course, it also has plenty of hidden potential for the geeks amongst you. Partner it with Max for Live and you can get right in about it, so to speak. Modifications could include turning it into a 16 step sequencer or a copycat Monome.... the possibilities are almost endless!
The APC20 is a welcome addition to Akai's APC range and a fond favourite of almost every Live user we know. No matter how you use Ableton Live, you need to get one of these post haste!
