The people at ART obviously really care about audio and it certainly shows in the M-One Studio Condenser microphone. For an entry level condenser, this thing has phenomenal build quality and provides a rich, clear and open sound perfect for recording vocals and acoustic instruments.
The M-One is a cardioid response condenser microphone with a low-mass diaphragm and an upgraded high quality capsule. It delivers a clear tone with incredibly sharp detail and thanks to its incredible feedback rejection and isolation it is suitable for both live sound and studio applications. It offers a full frequency response at the front of the microphone and a controlled and predictable proximity effect. The chassis is made from a precision-tooled zinc aluminium alloy, it has a dent-resistant mesh stainless-steel windscreen and a hard-tail microphone standmount.
Basically, what all this means in practice is that you get a sweet sounding, solidly made condenser microphone with a pretty wide range of practical applications for under a £100 which is pretty good value in our book.
