Kavsrave is the sound of neon dipped, maximum power R&B as it's dragged through the sewers and elevated to the heavens.
Numbers have established their rep exponentially in a few short months, and in Jamie Kavanagh have unearthed their own A&R gem: equal parts thick woozy funk and glycerine chanteuse aromatics - George Clinton serenading Beyonce in the great sugar glass elevator. Growing up near Croydon alongside Joy Orbison and A1 Bassline, he was recommended to the label by the former, having put on raves and explored Cubase with the two throughout his teenage years.
'PClart' opens his début by welding delicate vocal licks onto obese bassline mechanics, showcasing the ear for classic bitter-sweet melody and dancefloor pressure that has already defined the Numbers sound. 'Tightly Closed' ups the ante further, creating a vacuum in the cotton candy intro that clears the decks for another b-line smart bomb. In the 2020 remake of Beverley Hills Cop, it'll soundtrack the 20 minute Axel Foley sex scene. On a loop.
This is the realisation of the sonic utopia imagineered by Timbaland, Darkchild and Danjah Hands. This is The Dream racing up and down a Croydon high street, pumping out UK Bass in a souped up purple Corsa. This is Kavsrave.
