Australian Music companies are few and far between but Rode make up up in quality what Aus lacks in quantity. The NT1 was one of a new breed of Large Diaphram Studio Condenser Microphones first produced in the 1990's that reduced the price for the average recording musican significantly without comprimising on quality.
Whilst many European brands made a big deal about their products being "Assembled by hand", Rode went in the opposite direction, investing millions of dollars in state of the art robotic production facilities and machines that allowed them to control the actual manufacture and assembly of almost every component in their microphones. This process has produced a range of mics that Rode are happy to offer a ten year warranty on (and you would only do that if you knew you were only going to see a handfull of mics back over that period) and have found their ways into an increidible amoung of project Studios.
Their range covers everything from standard studio Vocal Mics to specialist "Shotgun" mics used in Broadcast and even Mics designed for Podcasting. They've won many an award for their technological advances and can be relied on to push the boundries of what's possible on limited budgets for recording musicians everywhere.
