Rounding out 2023 we're back and brining you the HEAVIER side of Jungle with four bangin' tracks from Quaad and newcomer Fundamentals! An OG in the game, Fundamentals has been around since the golden era and has rubbed shoulders with just about every Drum & Bass DJ that's toured in the states. His venture into serious music production is a new but strong one with a beautiful release earlier this year on Omni Music.
This EP is a nod to the later 90's Jungle style, hardstep if you will. And a wholly under-represented style in our opinion. Focusing on the 95-96 and onwards productions that came from the likes of Dj SS, Dillinja, L-Double etc.
A1 opens this EP with some ruff collab brainstormin' bizness, runnin' hot pants throughout! Big Daddy Kane sample abundantly clear in the mix, this one is the dancefloor damager no doubt.
A2 is the mark of the first official Amiga track released on Heavy Sounds (with many more to come). Fundamentals sourcing most of the vox samples and running them through FX, and Quaad sequencing inside Octamed V4. Strictly Amiga audio!
B1 has stayed a dub for a couple years now but finally see's the light of day with a bit of a revamp in the bassline. This one gets rinsed almost every set. Biggup the Mistress Of The Dark crew!
Lastly, B2 was a vault tune for many years after being rediscovered on an old laptop! Many edits were made and now you have this doozy of a tune.
